This video is great and I love ping pong! (FYI the US Ping Pong team is 100% Chinese!)

Talk about a long ass wait!  I finally found a host, found a theme I liked.  Dean you da man!  You can find the theme I am using here.  I am testing a few things out with lot more goodies after the jump… (more…)

For those of you itchin to go riding or attempting to snowboard, hunter has a ton of snow right now.

It’s the best stress reliever for me. Bombin down the mountain listening to some tunes is just plain therapy. I’ve gotten back into “trying” to jam in the park and hit some rails and flat boxes. If you’re in the NYC area and looking for some good riding options, check out the following:

* NYC Ski - 917.692.5222
* Urban Sherpa (Burton SOHO Trips) - 917.692.5222
* Paragon - 212.255.8036
* Princeton Ski - 212.228.4400
* Scandinavian - 212.757.8524

Damage is $70 for bus + lift ticket.

I highly recommend NY Ski. Bus leaves @ 6:30am, back in the city by 7pm. A Capri-sun and bagel included in the AM with classy flicks such as overboard, nacho libre and bewitched for the ride up. Shout out to Holly and company.

I’ve been cleaning my place little by little and realized I have way too many frickin boxes in my apartment. I have all the styrofoam, holders, black/white ties for cables, etc. in the boxes too.

I’ve got this thing for “saving” boxes…I guess it’s good for ebaying stuff.

FedEx delivered me a nice package.

I’ve been intrigued by the “intuitiveness” the Mac os boasts. I am a sucker for change, a sucker for trying new shit and a sucker for good solid design. So I bought a Mac. A MacBook Pro to be exact. Interestingly enough, they ship from China. Had no idea.

I’m typing from it now and to be completely honest, I’m impressed. In short:
• Packaging – dope packaing, simple put - nice Styrofoam blockers in the box
• Build quality: very good, no dead pixels, no creaks (so far that is…)
• Keyboard – very little flex, quick response and I type faster on this thing then I ever did on my standard desktop keyboard (or any other keyboard for that fact)
• Screen – very good quality (I got glossy) – there’s a slight bit of light leakage coming out of the bottom right area of the screen – not too big of a deal yet.

TBD’s
• Battery life – right now I have just about wrapped up calibrating it (I have done two full sessions of complete drains and recharges) - if I can get a good 3.5 hours out of this thing, I’ll be more then happy
• The battery meter is pretty volatile and runs as wild as 40 or so minutes of variability (4:25, jumps down to 3:30 then back up, etc.)
• Light leakage – if it doesn’t get much better, this may have to be revisited
• Boot camp or Parallels (TBD - still waiting on a “licensed” version of Vista so I can install it on my box)

For those of you that are waiting on hopping on the mac train for something simple, effective and useful – you shouldn’t hesitate. If you are thinking of size, I’m actually quite happy I opted for the 15 “ version. I am a stickler for having all gadgets small and quick, but this one makes sense. If this is going to be your primary computer, take it from me – get the 15”.

It’s an addicting quality of mine. I’ll buy something and you know, I know, everyone knows, it’s at least a few days before it will be delivered.

Yet, I refresh every day…“JUST IN CASE”

I’ve grown to love the F5 button on my keyboard. That picture you see on the top left is an item that was delivered this morning to my apartment. You’ll wish you were me and since I know that, you can plan on me sharing what I can.

That describes the initial reaction from many Apple loving VZW folks I know.

You have to admit though, their service kicks ass (at least around here) and EV-DO owns EDGE.

So for the:
“Can I get it on Verizon?”
“Is Verizon getting the apple phone thingee?”

Here’s the headline - No.

Cingular signed a multi-year deal with Apple and like Kryptonite is to Superman, I and many others will face inevitability and fold like the little school girls we are and switch to Cingular/ATT. With that switch comes a painful $175 ETF (early termination fee) which is tough to get around.

But as John Adam’s says where there’s a will there’s a way and “Phone Theft NYC” may have found one. As I’m a closet Hofo’er (amongst other things) - there’s an interesting thread unfolding here.

Here’s a snapshot from Verizon’s TOS.

“Our Rights To Make Changes
Your service is subject to our business policies, practices, and procedures, which we can change without notice. UNLESS OTHERWISE PROHIBITED BY LAW, WE CAN ALSO CHANGE PRICES AND ANY OTHER CONDITIONS IN THIS AGREEMENT AT ANY TIME BY SENDING YOU WRITTEN NOTICE PRIOR TO THE BILLING PERIOD IN WHICH THE CHANGES WOULD GO INTO EFFECT. IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE YOUR SERVICE AFTER THAT POINT, YOU’RE ACCEPTING THE CHANGES. IF THE CHANGES HAVE A MATERIAL ADVERSE EFFECT ON YOU, HOWEVER, YOU CAN END THE AFFECTED SERVICE, WITHOUT ANY EARLY TERMINATION FEE, JUST BY CALLING US WITHIN 60 DAYS AFTER WE SEND NOTICE OF THE CHANGE.”

This will get you out now, you’re next problem is finding a service that is non-commital and a cellphone to get you through the 6 month wait.

I was a skeptic till you see Steve using the device live. Fast FWD till about 15:00. This is when he does live demos with the actual device.

You can find the video keynote address here.

Who says size doesn’t matter?

Thanks to engadget and sizeasy (vv cool site btw) we know that the iPhone is actually alot smaller then one might think.

Size is subjective yes…your piece might look bigger in your hands but smaller in hers…

The actual dimensions listed are:

Dimensions: 4.5 x 2.4 x 0.46 inches
Weight: 4.8 ounces / 135 grams

SO what’s the headline?

IT’S SMALLER THEN THE MOTOROLA Q & SLIGHTLY WIDER THEN THE BLACKJACK.

And like your lady friend says, “It’s just perfect.”

A guy I know called it a “F’in H-O-M-E-R-U-N.” Random fact of the day this same guy took a dump in the bathroom of the lead singer for the pussy cat dolls while she was next door. He also failed to flush (that might be a lie.)

But I digress.

Bottom line is this phone is the bomb ish and it’s going to be huge.

Forget the business user - this is a lifestyler phone and it has my name all over it.

One thing to keep in mind before I list the useful links…this thing literally is a true hybrid of the new video iPod, a phone and a pretty blazing browser (no offense to treo users!) I’m skeptical about battery life in realworld use.
