Footpatrol

Due to its nature, not all news can be good. In fact, some can be downright distressing. None so much than the news that Footpatrol, London’s finest sneaker boutique, is closing at the end of the month.

SB heads will at least remember the shop as the launch pad for the London City Dunks and, at most, as one of the friendliest places to pick up exclusive and carefully selected kicks.

Following Slammin’ Kicks and Bond, Footpatrol is the latest shop of its kind to vacate London’s Soho as specialist stores are becoming as rare as the products they used to stock in the pre-Internet heydays.

All is not lost, however, with the spirit of FP living on in its sterling collaborations which will continue to be developed and made available through The Hideout and Covent Garden’s Stussy store.

Rest in peace, Footpatrol. We will miss you.

Nike SB would be releasing new sneakers that are inspired by classic Guitars. As the name of this sneaker suggests, this shoe was inspired by the Fender Bass guitar. The store called 242 has stock of these shoes. The Fender bass guitar was created by Leo Fender. This guitar stood out from other guitars because of its brighter and richer tone.

The toe box is silver-grey and represents the knobs and metallic portion of the Fender bass. Running down the length of the shoe, the shoe lace would represent the guitar strings. There is a pattern of bullet holes spraying out from the center of the toe box. The brown represents the wood part of the guitar. At the heel, the black portion of the backstab has been given a different appearance with specks of pink.

“Say what you will about Nike but the know how to put enough R&D into a product that they get it right. Coming out of SIA, Nike drops boots inspired buy the legendary Nike Air Force 1. Nike South East Asia has done a special Dunk Locker packaging for the Nike Dunk Be True campaign. It’s a special locker which contains the 7 pairs of “Be True to Your School” Dunks as seen on the poster. These lockers are made as part of the Dunk campaign’s initiatives. Mark Ong (SBTG) was one of the first to receive them as part of the seeding program. Word has it these lockers might even be given away as lucky draw during their series of Dunk events in South East Asia.
