We All Know Someone That Thinks They’re Good @ Ping Pong.Posted by: chunp in Toys, Uncategorized, internet, randomThis video is great and I love ping pong! (FYI the US Ping Pong team is 100% Chinese!)
Came courtesy of Zumiez (looks sold out…) Great look, great feel, second set of laces included (set of white / grey laces.) The tongue padding is awesome and the look of the shoe is even better. I’ve tossed both sets of laces in - still debating which set to go with. I feel supra’s will be taking over my “go to” stack shortly… After work, I met up with friends at Epstein’s. There was some skate video premier, so the place was bombarded by tweens with flashy sneakers, lots of skateboards and alot of bumping. The folks from DQM, Reed, and Supreme were there as well, but I digress. After a few drills, Mark and Chris were raving about the hyped pizzeria joint that opened up on 14th - Artichoke Pizza. After a brief pause, we decided to roll. I heard of long lines, but the line wasn’t too bad. I did learn though that anyone ordering a pie at a time is an enemy to everyone else waiting. The word is the production side of Artichoke isn’t that good, which may also be why the pizza is so damn good. My first slice I had was the spinach/artichoke slice. The slice was huge, the pies are huge and it ran me $6 for the giant slice + 2 bottles of water. Not bad. The slice itself - was delicious. Delicious is subjective - agreed, but it had a fettucine like sauce (no tomato sauce) and it was oozing with olive oil and butter. I’d place calorie count at - at least 1000 calories/slice. They also have fried cauliflower and stuffed artichokes and plain margarita pizza (which I haven’t tried yet.) Does it meet the hype? Yes. Super friendly staff, greasy/cheesy delicious pizza, tasty dough (thick like brochette) and “to be” 22′oz Styrofoam cups of beer (coming soon) makes for a pretty ridiculous combination. I’ll leave it with - one learns to appreciate apple’s simplistic design over time.

Google’s Latest Update to Quality Score (Display URL)Posted by: chunp in Google, affiliate marketing, internet, online advertising, search marketingOver the last couple of years, Google has been making a variety of changes to the quality score impacting paid search. First it was more then CTR*Max CPC’s, then the “more” became a dynamic ad ranking model which included landing pages, then that was stretched further into min/max CPC’s as well as “content” on landing pages being valuable. Effective April 1st, Google will be strictly enforcing a “new” policy that display URL’s must match Destination URL’s. This will likely have a large impact on free-loading search publishers that aren’t adding much value through the “real-estate” model. Here’s a list of changes that we should expect with some examples to help explain things better: (more…)

Apartment In a Box - Someone Help Fund These Guys!Posted by: chunp in Toys, gadgets, internetWow this is super cool. We’ve all read “x” in a box but it’s always lacking in some way or another. While I can’t vouch for the construction of this stuff, I’ve been in and out of college. College kids is the target market that keeps giving. The founders of this company need help funding. Someone help them! Ikea buy’em out! The unpack takes ~10 minutes.

Microsoft Acquires Danger - Sidekick Users Deemed “Professionals”, Protests EverywherePosted by: chunp in Microsoft, cellphone, gadgets, internet
My buddy Q (facebook smackdown app fame) picked up the sidekick back when it had first came out - monochrome, clunky but the first to hit the mainstream with a qwerty device & always on IM. He absolutely loved it. As the hardware got better (software development moved like snails) I always loved the concept but felt execution was lacking. Maybe I wasn’t in the target market for it. |
