Thanks to my buddy Mark and a few cats from OH, my old school love for kicks (or as my boy L from baltimore calls them “tennis”) is in full fledge mayhem. I’ve been picking up a variety of “heat” as of late but have been waiting on these in particular:

Also - shout out to Quincy Smith for making massive moves and doing it in style. More details here.

Remember…he’s just beginning….

Publisher shopping seems to be the latest craze. But when you think of it, why not? Both purchases for the most part make sense, strengthen some existing business or fuel a new business opportunity right?

So the details around the deal are as follows:

  • 100M all cash
  • $352M deal all in contingent on performance goals (unclear whether this is in cash or stock)

MeziMedia is mostly known for their CouponMountain property in the US, but smarter.com is picking up speed. I wasn’t aware that MeziMedia ranked that high in the shopping category.

It will be interesting to see how the integration plan rolls out and if the smarter.com brands will integrate with the Pricerunner brands as well. Looks like they have some redundancies here but potential bigger issues with conflicts of interests. Inventory’s becoming a bigger issue for affiliate networks in general, but I guess time will tell.

Nonetheless, congrats to Talmadge & Harry. You can read the release here.
