For those of you itchin to go riding or attempting to snowboard, hunter has a ton of snow right now.

It’s the best stress reliever for me. Bombin down the mountain listening to some tunes is just plain therapy. I’ve gotten back into “trying” to jam in the park and hit some rails and flat boxes. If you’re in the NYC area and looking for some good riding options, check out the following:

* NYC Ski - 917.692.5222
* Urban Sherpa (Burton SOHO Trips) - 917.692.5222
* Paragon - 212.255.8036
* Princeton Ski - 212.228.4400
* Scandinavian - 212.757.8524

Damage is $70 for bus + lift ticket.

I highly recommend NY Ski. Bus leaves @ 6:30am, back in the city by 7pm. A Capri-sun and bagel included in the AM with classy flicks such as overboard, nacho libre and bewitched for the ride up. Shout out to Holly and company.

I’ve been cleaning my place little by little and realized I have way too many frickin boxes in my apartment. I have all the styrofoam, holders, black/white ties for cables, etc. in the boxes too.

I’ve got this thing for “saving” boxes…I guess it’s good for ebaying stuff.

FedEx delivered me a nice package.

I’ve been intrigued by the “intuitiveness” the Mac os boasts. I am a sucker for change, a sucker for trying new shit and a sucker for good solid design. So I bought a Mac. A MacBook Pro to be exact. Interestingly enough, they ship from China. Had no idea.

I’m typing from it now and to be completely honest, I’m impressed. In short:
• Packaging – dope packaing, simple put - nice Styrofoam blockers in the box
• Build quality: very good, no dead pixels, no creaks (so far that is…)
• Keyboard – very little flex, quick response and I type faster on this thing then I ever did on my standard desktop keyboard (or any other keyboard for that fact)
• Screen – very good quality (I got glossy) – there’s a slight bit of light leakage coming out of the bottom right area of the screen – not too big of a deal yet.

TBD’s
• Battery life – right now I have just about wrapped up calibrating it (I have done two full sessions of complete drains and recharges) - if I can get a good 3.5 hours out of this thing, I’ll be more then happy
• The battery meter is pretty volatile and runs as wild as 40 or so minutes of variability (4:25, jumps down to 3:30 then back up, etc.)
• Light leakage – if it doesn’t get much better, this may have to be revisited
• Boot camp or Parallels (TBD - still waiting on a “licensed” version of Vista so I can install it on my box)

For those of you that are waiting on hopping on the mac train for something simple, effective and useful – you shouldn’t hesitate. If you are thinking of size, I’m actually quite happy I opted for the 15 “ version. I am a stickler for having all gadgets small and quick, but this one makes sense. If this is going to be your primary computer, take it from me – get the 15”.
